Understanding Cron Expression Format

Cron expressions consist of five fields: minute, hour, day of month, month, and day of week. Each field can contain numbers, ranges, lists, or wildcards (*).

Field Format

  • Minute (0-59): When the task runs within the hour
  • Hour (0-23): When the task runs within the day
  • Day of Month (1-31): Which day of the month
  • Month (1-12): Which month
  • Day of Week (0-7): Which day of the week (0 or 7 = Sunday)
